Sverdlovsk region took the third place in the large-scale digital project “Fitness League of Regions”, confirming the high level of involvement of residents in regular physical activity. This is reported by the press service of the city administration. During the competition, the Urals completed a total of 11,499,818 steps, earned more than 59 thousand health points and burned 703,376 calories. The region accounted for almost 23% of the League’s total scores.
The project, which took place from August 1 to October 4, was attended by residents of eight districts of Yekaterinburg, as well as Upper Pyshma and the village of Gornouralsky. The leader in the number of participants in the region was the Chkalovsk district of Yekaterinburg - there more than a thousand people joined the League. In total, residents of five regions of Russia competed in the Fitness League, and the total number of participants exceeded 15 thousand people.
The participants recorded activity in the My Fitness application: steps, training and other types of physical activity were converted into health points – they were taken into account both in the individual and in the team standings. The project was implemented with the grant support of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and is aimed at forming a healthy lifestyle and popularizing daily activity.
The general director of MyFitness.rf Sergey Solovyov noted the strength of the team result of the Sverdlovsk region.
The Sverdlovsk region showed a strong team result and was among the three leaders of the project. This confirms that the digital format allows you to engage in regular physical activity thousands of people – regardless of age, level of training and sports experience. Every step, walk or training becomes a contribution not only to personal health, but also to the overall result of the region, said Sergey Solovyov.
Earlier, “MK-Ural” wrote that the all-Russian race “Cross of the Nation” was held in Yekaterinburg on September 26 and gathered more than 20 thousand participants. This year, a large-scale sporting event was timed to coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The traditional platform for the race in the Ural capital was the Yekaterinburg Arena stadium.
