White admits UFC return to Russia after six-year break
President of the Absolute Fighting Championship Dana White allowed the holding of a new tournament of the organization in Russia

The president of the Absolute Fighting Championship Dana White allowed the organization to hold a new tournament in Russia. According to him, this option now makes sense, but specific negotiations on the return of promotion are not yet underway. He said this at a press conference after the tournament in Abu Dhabi.
White noted that the issue of holding competitions in Russia deserves attention, but no discussions on this topic have yet taken place.
The UFC last hosted a tournament in Russia in November 2019. In total, three promotional events took place in the country: the first took place in Moscow in September 2018, the second in St. Petersburg in April 2019, the third again in Moscow in November of the same year.
Currently, two Russian fighters own UFC championship belts. Islam Makhachev is the champion of the welter-middle division, and Peter Yan holds the title in the lightest weight category. On the night of October 25, Jan defended his belt in a duel with Merab Dvalishvili at the UFC 333 tournament in Abu Dhabi.
Earlier, Makhachev announced his desire to finish his career with a performance at the UFC tournament in Moscow. In August, the Russian fighter expressed hope that the organization will soon again hold competitions in Russia.
