In Arkhangelsk, the XXIII Regional Boxing Tournament in memory of coaches Alexander Rybin and Evgeny Antufiev was held

Competitions were held in the sports complex named after A.F. Lichutin and gathered more than 120 athletes from the Arkhangelsk and Vologda regions. The tournament opened with a parade with the participation of all municipal teams.

- This tournament has been held annually since 2003, and it is rightfully considered one of the most representative in our region, said the organizer of the competition Fyodor Gladkov. For many young boxers, participation in it becomes a serious test of strength and an opportunity to express themselves in the Arkhangelsk region. The level of competition is growing every year, and this tournament is no exception.

For three days, the athletes demonstrated a high level of skill. The final fights turned out to be really “hot” – a number of fights came out very stubborn and exciting.

In the final among men in the weight category up to 60 kilograms boxed Nasimi Mamishov and Oleg Nikolaev from Arkhangelsk. Both athletes performed very well, but more precisely, Nasimi Mamishov inflicted more blows - he won by unanimous decision of the side judges.

Young athletes also performed well. In the age group of older boys born in 2010-2011, Gleb Firsov distinguished himself in the weight category over 80 kilograms. In the semifinals, he finished the match ahead of schedule, demonstrating dominance from the first seconds, in the final he also finished the fight due to a clear advantage. As a result, he was awarded a special prize from the Boxing Federation of Arkhangelsk.

Among the older boys, the audience remembered another stubborn fight – the fight of Evgeny Strunin from Severodvinsk and Evgeny Kochanov from Arkhangelsk. The native of the city of shipbuilders worked mainly in an attacking style, and the representative of the capital Pomorie boxed with his hands down, working direct blows on counterattacks. The guys never stopped exchanging punches. Following the results of three rounds, Evgeny Strunin was declared the winner.

The most emotional battle of the tournament was the confrontation between the representative of Arkhangelsk Demyan Drachkov and Semyon Chernakov from Severodvinsk. Demyan Drachkov took the position of the first number - he went forward to attack, more dominated the ring and set the pace of the fight. Semyon Chernakov worked as the second number - he acted at a distance, met, beat, worked on counterattacks. The fight was very close, it was difficult to determine the winner even for the side judges. As a result, the victory was awarded to Demyan Drachkov, he was also recognized as the best boxer of the tournament. The prize for the will to win the memory of Arkhangelsk boxer Sergey Salamakhi was awarded to Semyon Chernakov.

The main judge of the competition is the world champion, winner of the Goodwill Games, quarterfinalist of the Olympic Games in Seoul, Honored Master of Sports Alexander Artemyev from St. Petersburg highly appreciated the tournament.

“The Arkhangelsk Boxing School today demonstrates a very decent level,” said Alexander Artemyev. A good shift is growing here and you can see it from the way the guys work in the ring. Particularly pleased with the final fights: they were both technique, and character, and real sports anger. Many athletes have a great future.

At the initiative of the President of the Boxing Federation of the Arkhangelsk region Alexei Tomilov, special prizes were awarded to the most loyal fans of the tournament - spouses Tatiana and Dmitry Mymrina. They have not missed any competition since 2003. The best judge was recognized by Alexei Repnitsyn from Arkhangelsk.
