In the Bryansk school of Olympic reserve in gymnastics, the city championship in all-around and the Bryansk Cup in individual disciplines began. The competition was opened by Deputy head of the city administration Alexander Gavrilov.
He wished the participants success and noted that the competitions help athletes to develop skills, overcome difficulties and move to new achievements.
During the opening ceremony, Anna Vasilyeva and Mikhail Romashin were presented with certificates of “Master of Sports of Russia”. Both gymnasts continue to play sports and study as coaches.
About 200 athletes aged 6 to 17 years participate in the competition. Girls perform in the reference jump, on bars and logs, as well as in freestyle exercises. The men's program includes exercises on a horse, bars, rings and a crossbar, a reference jump and freestyle exercises.
The competition will last two days. The winners will prepare for the championship of the Bryansk region.
