The Ministry of Sport of Tatarstan officially stated that figure skater Kamila Valieva was included in the participants of the Kazan stage of the Russian Grand Prix. Information about this was distributed by TASS with reference to the press service of the department.
Despite the fact that the ISU revoked the neutral status of the athlete, depriving her of the right to compete in the international arena, this restriction does not apply to domestic Russian competitions. The tournament in Kazan will be held under the auspices of the national federation, which allows Valieva to resume her career. For the skater, this is a long-awaited chance to return to competitive practice after a long break.
After the end of the period of disqualification at the end of 2025, Camila began preparing for the start. Although the ISU returned its neutral status in August 2026, it was withdrawn a month later without explanation. At the moment, the athlete’s legal team is exploring the possibility of challenging this decision, but the CAS has not yet recorded formal appeals. The upcoming stage in Kazan will be a landmark moment for Valieva, marking her full-fledged return to the ice
long break.
