In Minsk started the city stage of competitions in modern pentathlon “Give five”

City competitions in modern pentathlon "Give five" began in the Republican center of Olympic training in athletics on October 21, the correspondent of the agency "Minsk-Novosti".

“Give five” is an analogue of the “Golden Puck”, “Leather Ball”, “Snow Sniper”. To participate invited schoolchildren who are not engaged in DYUSSH and SDYUSHOR in modern pentathlon. It's a prerequisite. Children in two age groups (younger - 2015-2016 years of birth, the older - 2013-2014-ies) identify the best in the laser wound - running and shooting from a laser pistol.

As the deputy head of the main department - the head of the department of physical culture and recreational work of the main sports department of the Minsk City Executive Committee Olesya Mostov said, 144 participants will perform at the city stage. So, on October 21, boys and girls will identify the strongest in the personal championship, and a day later the winners of the relay will become known.

Competitions “Give five” are held for the first time, – said O. Mostova. In May of this year, a provision was developed, which was sent to every school and gymnasium of the capital. The RCOP athletics platform was chosen not by chance for the city round - it is here that the republican competitions "Give Five" will be held in November 2026. Now the participants will conduct a general rehearsal. Another important point is that promising children will be offered to continue training in the modern pentathlon at SDYUSHOR.

According to the representative of the Central district team Sergey Pchelintsev, the idea of the competition is good - children get a chance to prove themselves, find their sport, lead an active lifestyle. All secondary education institutions in the district — 18 of them — a week ago fielded participants at the local stage of the tournament. The medals were won by 115 children.

- All the guys run well, but the gun had to get used to. But it was immediately clear which of the participants had the ability to shoot. It went well. At the end of the tournament, we talked with the children - many liked the laser run. We held competitions in SDYUSHOR in modern pentathlon, and coaches from the sports school took on a pencil our promising children - a boy and a girl, - said S. Pchelintsev.

For children, participation in the city stage of the competition was an exciting event. Some on the shoot well closed targets, and when it came time to make test shots, nervous and missed. Not everyone managed to show their maximum. Participants were upset to tears, but were comforted by their parents and team representatives. For them, all is not lost - the chance to prove themselves will be in the relay.
