Voronezh “Torch” won the first victory in the RPL season

Voronezh “Torch” won the first victory in the championship of the Russian Premier League season-2026/27. In the guest match of the 11th round, which took place on October 17 in Samara, the team beat the Wings of the Soviets with a score of 2: 1. The meeting was the second for Alexei Rebko as acting head coach.

The first goal Voronezh scored in the 17th minute. After serving team captain Ilnur Alshin from the corner Brazilian defender Clayton sent the ball into the goal of the field hosts. However, the Samaras soon levelled the score thanks to Martin Kramarich's precision strike.

The denouement came in the second half. In the middle of the game segment, the Torch again earned a corner, after which Alshin made a productive transfer to Matvey Bardachev. He won the horse fight and scored the winning ball with his head.

Rebko led the team after the departure of Oleg Vasilenko. The resignation was preceded by a home defeat from Lokomotiv Moscow with a score of 0: 5. Before that, “Torch” could not win 13 matches in a row in all tournaments – ten meetings in the RPL and three in the Cup of Russia.

With the new acting head coach, the Voronezh team has already achieved two victories: first they beat Krasnodar in the guest cup match with a score of 2-0, and then took three points in the championship.

The next game will be played at home. On Saturday, October 24, as part of the 12th round, Voronezh will meet with the Moscow “Rodina” at the stadium on Writer Marshak Street.
