The goalkeeper of the enemy recaptured the penalty, but did not save the team: as Ulyanovsk “Volga” snatched the victory in Khabarovsk

Ulyanovsk Volga won an away victory over SKA-Khabarovsk in the match of the 14th round of the First League. The meeting ended 2-1 in favor of the guests. The decisive ball in the 81st minute was scored by Alexander Saplinov, who scored after an unrealized penalty. Thanks to this result, the Ulyanovsk team scored 18 points and rose to the tenth line of the standings.

The match took place on October 18 at the Vladimir Lenin Stadium in Khabarovsk. Despite the active beginning of the hosts, the players of the Ulyanovsk team were the first to succeed.

Already in the debut of the meeting, the army twice checked the strength of the crossbar of the Volga gate. Especially dangerous was the blow of Dmitry Markitesov, after which Stepan Glotov tried to play at the finishing, but failed to send the ball into the net.

Ulyanovsk took their chance in the 16th minute. Forward Astemir Khashkulov opened the scoring and led the guests forward. However, it was not possible to keep the advantage until the break.

In the 24th minute, the player of the Khabarovsk team Nikita Motspan earned a penalty and independently performed an eleven-meter strike. The ball was in the goal, and on the scoreboard equality was established - 1: 1.

After the break, the hosts continued to create dangerous moments. In the 71st minute Stepan Glotov was in close proximity to the gates of the Ulyanovsk, but struck above the crossbar. Five minutes later, Motspan struck a powerful blow, but the goalkeeper of Volga managed to maintain a draw.

The denouement came in the 81st minute, when the right to penalty was already received by the guests. Alexander Saplinov approached the ball. The goalkeeper of Khabarovsk Mikhail Shtepa reflected the initial blow, but the Volga midfielder was the first to finish and sent the ball into the net. The score was 2:1 in favor of the Ulyanovsk team.

In the remaining time, the owners tried to avoid defeat. In the 90th minute, Alexander Zhirov struck next to the bar, and in compensated time even goalkeeper Mikhail Shtepa joined the attack. However, the Ulyanovsk defense withstood the final onslaught of the opponent.

The main arbitrator of the meeting was Vitaly Moldovan from Krasnodar. According to the results of the match, Volga strengthened its position in the middle of the standings, while the Khabarovsk club with seven points remained in penultimate, 17th place.
