Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement at the highest level are meaningless without preliminary preparation at the level of experts. He commented on the prospects of a trilateral meeting between Russia, the United States and Ukraine.
"It is inexpedient to hold a summit meeting before the work at the expert level is done - it will be a waste of time," Peskov said. This applies, among other things, to the US-Russian talks, the press secretary of the head of state noted. According to him, the President of Russia is ready to meet with his American counterpart Donald trump, but so far “no specifics”, said the official.
Dmitry Peskov also stressed that the Kremlin’s position on Vladimir Putin’s meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is well known. Mr. Zelensky “can come to Moscow if he wants,” the press secretary of the head of state said. “The necessary security guarantees will be provided to him,” Peskov said.
On September 13, the press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Russia in the “foreseeable future” expects to hold trilateral talks on the Ukrainian conflict. Moscow announced the possible resumption of meetings after the visit of special envoy of the President of the United States Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner. The American side noted that new ideas were presented at the meetings to end the hostilities.
