The election Commission of Thailand has decided to refer to the Supreme court dozens of cases of alleged rigging of the results of voting in the senate.

The Election Commission of Thailand has decided to refer to the Supreme Court dozens of cases of alleged fraud in the Senate, writes sb.by.

According to Bloomberg, a seven-member panel voted to bring legal action against 77 people for alleged irregularities during Thailand’s 200-member Senate election in 2024.
“Among the defendants in this case there are neither ministers, nor leaders of political parties, nor other state officials,” the article says.
At the heart of the controversy is Thailand's complex senate selection system, under which approved candidates vote among themselves.
Critics argued that the 2024 vote was coordinated and aimed at selecting a predetermined list of candidates, which analysts said helped them join the Bhumjaitai party. Investigators focused their attention on allegations that the candidates were recruited, instructed to conduct a concerted vote, or received monetary compensation.
The commission said the initial joint investigation involved more than 400 people.
