Covers, fees, diaries and references: the Ministry of Education denied popular fakes about the rules in schools
The department told what rules apply in schools in the 2026/2027 academic year and urged parents to check information by official sources.

The Ministry of Education of Belarus has denied popular fakes about school life and explained the current rules in institutions of general secondary education. The ministry urged parents to trust only official sources of information and beware of provocations from unreliable channels.
Notebook covers
The presence of typographic covers is not prohibited. Requirements for them have been exclusively advisory in nature for many years. Each school has the right to independently choose and approve a single sample of design of title pages.
Cash charges
Any assistance to the school is provided strictly voluntarily by transferring funds to the current account of the institution. No one has the right to demand cash, force payments or set specific amounts. Parents' committees are not authorized to raise funds for the school - only boards of trustees can do this.
Diaries
The mandatory keeping of paper diaries for students of the second grade is not provided for by the rules. Officially, this document begins with the third grade. In the 2026/2027 academic year, these standards remained the same.
Certificates and fines
Information about the introduction of fines for passes is false. There are no innovations in the legislation. If a child is ill for up to five days, a medical certificate is not required, it is enough to warn the teacher about the absence of the student.
