The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to sell Israel a batch of heavy bombs totaling about $ 2.8 billion. It's from sb.by.

The Washington Post, citing sources, pointed out that the Trump administration is preparing a multibillion-dollar deal to sell Israel 2,000 pound bombs (about 907 kg), which could be the largest in recent years.
According to sources, we are talking about the sale of 20,000 MK-84 bombs, 20,000 BLU-117 bombs and the same number of BLU-109 penetrating bombs, known as I-2000.
The Washington Post explains that the deal is planned to be carried out using the Foreign Military Financing mechanism, which involves the provision of grants and loans to foreign countries for the purchase of American weapons. The amount of the transaction may be approximately $ 2.8 billion.
Trump, after his inauguration as the 47th president of the United States in January 2025, lifted the ban on the transfer of 2,000 pound bombs to Israel imposed by the previous administration of Joe Biden. Trump pointed out that the bombs "had been in warehouses for a long time," and the Israeli side had paid for them and had long waited for delivery. The Biden administration was concerned that the use of these weapons in Gaza could lead to significant civilian casualties.
