Five drinks for blood vessels: how to maintain the “good” and reduce the “bad” cholesterol
Cholesterol is “bad” (low-density lipoproteins – deposited on the walls of blood vessels) and “good” (high-density lipoproteins).

Cholesterol can be “bad” (low-density lipoproteins – deposited on the walls of blood vessels) and “good” (high-density lipoproteins – take plaques and take them to the liver). Properly selected drinks can help reduce “bad” and maintain “good” cholesterol — but only in combination with a healthy lifestyle. Russian phlebologist Maxim Abasov told about five drinks for vascular health, writes sb.by.

Green tea (leaf tea, not in bags)
According to Maxim Abasov, there are catechins in green tea that prevent the body from absorbing cholesterol and help remove it. Phlebologist advised to drink 2-3 cups a day, brewing with water about 80 ° C, without adding sugar.
Beet juice
- Rich in betaine, antioxidants and nitrates: they prevent the oxidation of “bad” cholesterol and dilate blood vessels. Do not drink in its pure form: dilute with water or carrot juice and keep in the refrigerator for at least a couple of hours, said Maxim Abasov.
Oat broth or unsweetened oat milk
According to Maxim Abasov, this drink contains beta-glucan - soluble fiber, which binds cholesterol in the intestines and removes it before entering the blood. Enough about 3 g of beta-glucan per day (about half a glass of broth).
Tomato juice
- It is a source of lycopene: it reduces “bad” cholesterol and protects cells. It is better to choose pasteurized juice or boiled homemade, without sugar and salt, Maxim Abasov advised.
Carcade
Maxim Abasov explained that the carcade contains anthocyanins, gently reduces total cholesterol and improves vascular elasticity. Carcade also does not contain caffeine, so it is suitable for the evening. Maxim Abasov said that it is better to brew it as a regular tea, you can with lemon and a small amount of honey.
