Food for 1800 rubles per week: what can be prepared from the minimum set of Rosstat
Three and a half eggs, 48 grams of cheese, 35 grams of cucumbers and almost four kilograms of bread – this is the weekly share of products per person, if you recalculate the official minimum food intake of Rosstat for seven days

The basis was taken conditional (minimum) set of food, approved by order of Rosstat dated December 18, 2025 No. 727. It specifies how much meat, milk, bread, vegetables and other products one person per year.
We divided the annual amounts by 52 weeks, and the final volumes were multiplied by the average Russian prices at the end of September 2026.
The result is 1,810.4 rubles per week, or an average of 258.6 rubles per day.
But there's an important nuance. Rosstat uses this set not as a recommended diet, but to compare the cost of products between regions. The amounts in it are conditional and do not reflect the real consumption of Russians. Therefore, our experiment is conditional: we test how convenient it would be to eat if you take the statistical set literally.
The calculation shows: at average Russian prices in September 2026, the weekly share of the minimum set costs 1810 rubles.
For this money, the conditional set includes meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, bread, vegetables and fruits. That is, we are not talking about eating only pasta or potatoes.
However, the proportions are very peculiar. Such a set can hardly be called a convenient base for the usual varied menu.
Meat and poultry man conditionally put about 670 grams per week, fish and herring — 283 grams. At first glance, almost a kilogram of animal products is a lot. But the caveat is that beef, pork and lamb are counted with bones, and fish is uncut. The actual weight of the edible part will be less.
Milk is decent - about 300 milliliters a day. Enough for porridge, a coffee supplement or just a drink. With cottage cheese is more difficult: per week there are 192 grams - one small package. This is either one breakfast or two modest portions.
Bread of two types per week is gained 3.7 kilograms - about 522 grams daily. At the same time, rice is only 96 grams dry, millet - 115, vermishel - the same amount. Each of these cereals and pasta will last only a few portions.
From vegetables will come soups, stewed cabbage, mashed potatoes, vegetable stew. Carrots and onions are suitable for dressing hot dishes. But with the usual fresh salads will be tight: cucumbers in a set of only 35 grams per week - a few thin slices. The vegetable part of the diet will consist mainly of potatoes, cabbage, carrots and onions. There will be almost no fresh fruit left.
Tomatoes, Bulgarian pepper and greens in the list of Rosstat is simply not. Buying them, of course, no one forbids, but if you literally follow the set, you would have to add them by reviewing its composition and price. The fruit part is also modest: 358 grams of apples per week - those two or three small apples. With a uniform distribution, about 51 grams per day are released.
Above the main positions in the basket there are still several products, without which the calculation would be incomplete.
Sweets in the set appear, but purely symbolic: about 13 grams of cookies and caramel for the whole week. But sugar, as we have already calculated, provides 385 grams - about 55 grams daily. But the amount of salt looks especially unusual against the background of other positions: about 70 grams per week, that is, about 10 grams per day.
Now imagine that all this stock is in our kitchen, and you can not buy anything beyond the list. Theoretically, the following menu can be assembled from such products.
Monday. Breakfast is millet porridge on milk with bread, lunch is potato soup with chicken, dinner is stewed cabbage with bread.
Tuesday. Breakfast - egg and bread with butter, lunch - potatoes with beef, dinner - pea soup.
Wednesday. Breakfast - milk and bread with cheese, lunch - fish with potatoes, dinner - cabbage with carrots and bread.
Thursday. Breakfast is wheat porridge, lunch is rice with a little meat, dinner is potato soup.
Friday. Breakfast - cottage cheese with an apple, lunch - vermicelli with vegetables and chicken, dinner - stewed potatoes.
Saturday. Breakfast - egg, bread and tea, lunch - fish soup, dinner - pea puree with bread.
Sunday. Breakfast - bread with butter and milk, lunch - soup with potatoes and vegetables, dinner - potatoes with cabbage.
It is important to understand: this is only an example of dishes that are really cooked from these products, and not an exact diet with a painted grammar. For a strict menu, each ingredient would need to be weighed additionally, taking into account bones, cleanings, and cooking losses.
Yet even such an example reveals a key feature of the set: it is almost impossible to escape from monotony. The nutrition skeleton is bread, potatoes, cabbage and other inexpensive products, and meat, fish, cheese and eggs appear in the menu in doses, in small portions.
