What will be the structure of the Academy of Intelligent Technologies, as well as the principles of selection and key areas of training, the Minister of Education of Belarus Andrey Ivanets said on the air of the First Information. It's reported by sb.by.

On September 10, the President of Belarus signed Decree No. 310 “On the establishment of the Academy of Intelligent Technologies”. It will begin training specialists in natural sciences, industrial and digital technologies, and other promising areas in September 2027.
In August 2024, at the Republican Pedagogical Council, the Head of State announced the need to create a new world-class educational center. It will be practice-oriented, will have a flexible educational, scientific and educational innovation environment of a new format. And it will be focused not only on training specialists for high-tech sectors of the economy, but also on the formation of those ready-made products and projects that are necessary for the economy of our country, the minister said.
According to him, the Academy of Intelligent Technologies is an educational structure that will combine not only the university sector, academic science, but also branch ministries: “That is why the composition of the Supervisory Board is formed primarily from all industry ministers, the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the leadership of the HTP and key departments that will largely be customers of personnel and in whose interests its activities will be carried out (ministries of industry, energy, architecture and construction, transport, communications, etc.).”.
The Academy will consist of three higher schools: natural sciences, industrial and digital technologies. Each will include scientific and educational laboratories and student design bureaus. “This is a cross-cutting integration of education, science and innovation,” said Andrey Ivanets. Everything will work on the principle of project activity and dual training: a significant part of the educational process will be held on the basis of research institutes, industrial enterprises and innovative companies of the country.
The Academy will become a non-standard educational institution, its doors will be open to everyone, regardless of age and level of education. The main thing is to have an idea to implement a specific development. “Selection will go through the regional stages and the final test. It is based on individual or group project activities. Admission to the Academy is the protection of the project and the delivery of an internal test. Such a practice-oriented approach at the stage of joining the Academy will ensure that not just trained, educated people will come, but those who are ready to implement specific developments for the country’s economy, said Andrey Ivanets.
The Academy will teach professors of leading universities, academic institutes and industry developers. This will allow creating interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of science and practice, which in a fairly short time will be able to give concrete results.
The training is focused on three key areas. “Robotics systems will be developed within the framework of the school of industrial technologies. This is a global trend, said the Minister of Education. Today it is difficult to imagine any direction or industry without new materials, so applied materials science for various fields of application is another direction.
The school of digital technologies includes wireless communications, remote sensing of the Earth, as well as financial and digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
The establishment of the Academy was preceded by more than two years of preparatory work. Andrey Ivanets reminded that the decree of the Head of State provides for the possibility of adjusting educational programs and training formats by order of the real sector of the economy to ensure a flexible educational environment. “The Academy should become a kind of pilot innovative platform for testing new programs that can be scaled and extended to the universities of the country,” the minister concluded.
