Named useful products to combat obesity

Scientists have found that dark berries and fruits can help the body fight excess weight and metabolic disorders. Special interest of specialists was caused by anthocyanins - natural pigments that give blueberries, blackberries and black currants a rich color. The study was published in the journal Food & Function.

The researchers examined data from laboratory experiments, animal experiments and clinical studies involving humans. It turned out that anthocyanins can affect the processes of accumulation and processing of fats. These compounds can prevent the formation of new fat cells, stimulate the breakdown of fats and increase energy expenditure.

In animal experiments, the use of anthocyanins was accompanied by a decrease in body weight and body fat, as well as an improvement in liver health. In addition, scientists have identified their potential ability to reduce inflammation, increase the body's sensitivity to insulin and maintain beneficial intestinal microflora.

The authors of the review believe that the regular inclusion of dark berries and fruits in the diet may be an additional way to prevent obesity and metabolic disorders.
