Roskoshestvo checked canned mackerel with the addition of oil from 37 manufacturers. All of them were safe for health, but in 15 brands, experts identified violations: from underweight fish to changing the species. This was reported in the press service of Roskoshestvo.
The main good news for all mackerel lovers: none of the jars found dangerous bacteria, mold, heavy metals or excess histamine. All 37 brands have been tested for safety and industrial sterility.
However, it was not without deception. Twelve brands fully meet high standards and can qualify for the Russian Quality Mark. Another ten stamps met only the basic requirements of the law. But 15 brands have seriously violated the rules.
The most common violation is the lack of fish. By law, it must be at least 50% in the bank. For four brands, this threshold is not met. Four more brands, the numbers on the label did not coincide with reality – somewhere the fish was less than stated.
In addition, in some canned food, a different type of fish was put instead of the claimed mackerel.
Also in six brands, manufacturers made a mistake with the amount of salt, and some buyers may not like hard bones or bitter taste.
After the inspection, Roskoshestvo sent the data to the regulatory authorities.
