Put the phone away: how to return the brain to normal rest
The phone has long been a part of our everyday life: in the morning we check messages, on the way we flip through the tape, at work we answer in chats, and in the evening we again take the smartphone in our hands. As a result, even in his spare time, the brain continues to receive a stream of new information and almost does not have time to rest. Constant use of gadgets can affect not only sleep and concentration, but also emotional state.
According to specialists of the Kaliningrad Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention, one of the reasons is the constant comparison of oneself with others. In the tape, people show trips, shopping, successes and happy moments, because of which there may be a feeling that others have a better and more interesting life.
Even a short browse of social networks can increase anxiety and reduce self-esteem. Especially sensitive to this can be teenagers and people who are no longer confident.
Constantly being in front of the screen can increase stress levels, reduce concentration and interfere with proper rest. Using a phone before bed can also impair its quality: the light from the screen affects the production of melatonin, which helps the body prepare for sleep.
It is not necessary to completely abandon the phone. To begin with, you can set limits on the most “tightening” applications and see how much time really takes on social networks.
In the morning, try not to take your smartphone immediately after waking up. Instead of watching the tape, you can sit quietly for a few minutes, do breathing exercises or read.
It is also useful to introduce simple rules: do not take the phone at the table and do not hold it next to the bed. At least a few hours a week without the internet.
