The aroma of barbecue, hot drams and fresh pastries greets guests of the festive fair at the Sports Palace on September 12. The correspondent of the agency "Minsk-Novosti" went through the outlets and looked at what else the sellers offer, which dishes are in greatest demand among visitors.
Especially crowded near hot food outlets. The menu here is striking in variety: from a small cake with cabbage to a hearty portion of kebab, pilaf or salmon steak. Sellers admit that on a festive day, visitors willingly try not only the usual dishes, but also that on an ordinary city walk you will not meet every day.

- Today, people come for the atmosphere of the holiday, so I want to offer them something interesting. We see that people react especially well to the fact that food is prepared right in front of them: the smell is felt from afar, a person walks by, sees how the finished meat is removed from the grill, and often can not resist not to try, said the seller Mikhail.
The gastronomic hit remains the barbecue. Pork costs 8.5 BYN per 100 g, chicken - 8. For those who prefer cheese to meat, there are suluguni in lavash - it is offered at 12 BYN.

There are also dishes at the fair that can be called a real classic of the Belarusian street feast. For example, dranics sell for 3.5 BYN per 100 g. For 1.5 BYN you can take a cake with cabbage. They also offer a corn dog for 2.5 BYN - a sausage in a thick dough of cornmeal, roasted to ruddy crust.

Dranks and cakes are something that people recognize immediately, and corn dog is more often chosen by young visitors. In general, today they take small portions well: people want to try several different dishes, and not stop at one thing, the man said.

In addition to hot dishes, there are many sweets at the fair. On the shelves you can find churchhela, chak-chak and baklava. Special attention of visitors is attracted by tredelniks - they are prepared right on the spot.

- Someone chooses a more familiar pastry, and someone specially tries something new. Especially great interest in desserts among those who walk with children: they come, consider the showcase, ask about fillings and choose what they like best, said the seller Tatiana.
For lovers of more hearty dishes prepared pilaf, ear and steak from salmon. There are also grilled vegetables - an option for those who want to do without heavy food, but do not give up hot.

A special atmosphere is created by a concert program near the Sports Palace. Music can be heard directly from the fair rows, so visitors do not have to choose between treats and entertainment.

- We love that the concert is going on nearby. No need to go anywhere specially: you can eat, walk and at the same time listen to music. In general, it is very pleasant to see how Minsk is developing, something new is emerging, such fairs and concerts are held, Maria shared her impressions.

For some guests, such holidays have long become a tradition. Families and groups of friends admit that they try to come for City Day every year. The program changes, new outlets and dishes appear, but the tradition itself remains.

- Every year we try to get out to celebrate. I like this feeling when the whole city comes to life, people take to the streets, music, many families, young people. Minsk on such days is especially beautiful and kind of homely. You can just walk for several hours, without planning anything in advance, and still have a good time, said the Minsk Yana.
