In Volgograd, 60% completed the dismantling of the pavement on the bridge over the VDSC
In Volgograd, large-scale repairs continue on the bridge over the VDSC - the contractor has completed the dismantling of the old pavement of the pedestrian part by 60%.

The total area of the site, which is to be restored on the roadway, is about 5000 square meters. The work is carried out within the framework of the national project “Infrastructure for life”.
Now experts are completing the organization of traffic according to a temporary scheme: with the help of a crane-manipulator, concrete blocks are installed to divide traffic flows and set the direction along the lanes. About 10 people and special equipment work on the site.
Due to the communications passing under the pavement, the analysis of the coating is carried out manually - using jackhammers. Old asphalt is taken out for disposal. Next, the contractor will remove the waterproofing and protective concrete layers and lay new materials. In the near future will remove the fence between the pedestrian area and the tramway. For safety, the pavement passage on this half of the bridge is temporarily closed.
In November, the dismantling of worn asphalt concrete pavement of the roadway begins. As part of the repair, a comprehensive renovation of the facility is provided: the arrangement of a new bridgebed and deformation seams, repair of supports, stairwells, tram line (including the contact network), as well as the construction of a drainage line, the repair of cones and the arrangement of approaches to the overpass.
Traffic on the bridge is not stopped completely, but the carriageway was narrowed, and the passage of trucks weighing more than 3.5 tons was prohibited. Work is on schedule, there are no backlogs.
The bridge, built in 1952, is heavily loaded due to heavy traffic, including heavy trucks. No major repairs have been carried out since 2009. The set of planned measures is designed to protect concrete structures, fittings and span structures of the structure.
The progress of the repairs was previously discussed as part of the governor’s working trip to the Krasnoarmeysky district: the head of the region noted the importance of strict control of terms and quality, and also drew the attention of builders to the specifics of working with such a large engineering facility
