Voronezh residents told about three products that help reduce bad cholesterol
Diet can affect cholesterol levels and the state of the cardiovascular system

The diet can affect cholesterol levels and the state of the cardiovascular system. Cardiologist and lipidologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences Valentina Baidina spoke about products that, according to her, can help reduce the content of “bad” cholesterol in the blood. The recommendations will be relevant for residents of Voronezh, who monitor heart health.
One of the most useful options, the specialist called fatty sea fish. The list included salmon, mackerel, tuna, halibut, sardines and flounder. This fish contains omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. They can help reduce levels of low-density lipoproteins, often referred to as “bad” cholesterol.
At the same time, fish is not only associated with a decrease in LDL. According to the doctor, omega-3s can also maintain levels of high-density lipoproteins – the so-called “good” cholesterol. They are involved in the transfer of excess cholesterol from tissues to the liver, where it is processed and excreted from the body.
Another important product Baidin called oatmeal. It is rich in soluble fiber, which can help control cholesterol levels. For the normal functioning of the cardiovascular system, minerals such as potassium and magnesium are also needed.
They can also be obtained from tomatoes, which the specialist also included in the recommendations. At the same time, the diet should be selected taking into account the individual characteristics of the body and possible contraindications. Before changing diet or in the presence of problems with cholesterol levels, it is recommended to consult a specialist.
