The most important thing is to pinpoint the time of your absence, explain the reason and determine who will pick up the urgent tasks that need to be completed. And also offer to work out the missed hours.

However, in this case it depends on the employer to give the employee a day off or not. But there are situations when they just can not let go of work.

According to Article 185.1 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, one day every 3 years is set for medical examination, and after 40 years - once annually. And the earnings are still there.

The employer must give up to five calendar days for registration of marriage, birth of a child or death of a loved one. But without saving wages (Article 128 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation).

The lawyer also warned against leaving work by oral agreement. If the head refuses it later, absence from the workplace for more than 4 hours in a row can be issued as absenteeism.

Another common mistake is to ask at the last minute. If you want to maintain good relations with the employer and not let anyone down, you need to do it in advance.
