Specialists of the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the Tver region told about measures to prevent salmonellosis.

Salmonellosis is an intestinal disease. It manifests itself in the form of weakness, chills, temperature, aches, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea. Carriers of the disease are laying chickens, the pathogen is often on the shell of eggs.

Bacteria are quite hardy: they do not die in the refrigerator, they live in an egg for up to a year, and on the shell for several weeks. The pathogens die only when cooking for 10 minutes or longer.

There is no specific prevention of salmonellosis, the department noted. Experts recommend:
