CAS rejects Russian Curling Federation appeal to extend suspension
The Court of Arbitration for Sport rejected two appeals filed by the Russian Curling Federation and Russian athletes

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected the appeal of the Curling Federation of Russia (FCR) on the decision to extend the suspension of Russian athletes from international competitions. This is reported by TASS in the press service of CAS.
CAS confirms that two appeals filed by the Russian Curling Federation and Russian athletes in connection with the non-participation of Russians in international competitions have been rejected. On October 13, a resolute decision was made, the court said.
The WCF announced on August 11 that it was extending the suspension of Russian curling players until the end of 2026, saying that "the return of Russian athletes to participate in adult competitions would jeopardize the integrity of tournaments.".
The Russian Curling Federation (FKR) disagreed with the decision. The organization said it would challenge the decision.”.
The Russian national team has not participated in international competitions under the auspices of the WCF since 2022, after the start of the military operation in Ukraine.
In 2025, the WCF explained the suspension of athletes that their presence at the event “could harm the tournament or endanger the safety of participants.”.
