Elementary rows at the exits of the subway, on sidewalks and car parks not only violate the improvement and interfere with pedestrians, but also pose a direct biological threat, explained O. Tymoshenko. Such sellers do not have medical certificates and overalls, there are no documents on the quality and origin of the goods, as well as basic conditions for personal hygiene.
Secondary pollution and toxic fumes
When selling products on the street, secondary pollution inevitably occurs:
- 1.milk and vegetable oil are often bottled in plastic bottles that have already been used;
- 2.vegetables and greens are laid out on cardboards right near the asphalt;
- 3.meat and fish are sold from the trunks of cars, where in the neighborhood there are spare wheels, canisters with gasoline and diesel fuel.
Even non-food products “from asphalt” are fraught with danger: clothes, underwear and shoes can become a source of lice, contact dermatitis and fungal diseases.
Deadly botulism and dangerous parasites
A special risk category is home blanks and perishable products sold without refrigerators:
- 1.hermetically closed sunsets of home cooking (mushrooms, meat, vegetables) - the main source of botulinum toxin, which causes a deadly disease - botulism;
- 2.meat without sanitary and veterinary control threatens infection with trichinosis, salmonellosis, brucellosis, as well as dangerous tapeworms (bull and pig tapeworms);
- 3.fish with hands can cause opisthorchia and diphyllobotriosis;
- 4.in milk and eggs, in violation of the temperature regime, pathogens of salmonellosis and dysentery rapidly multiply, while the taste and appearance of the product may not change for a long time.
In the area of high risk – children and the elderly
The causative agents of acute intestinal infections are extremely tenacious: on the surface of vegetables and fruits, typhoid bacteria persist for up to 10 days, and the causative agents of dysentery for several months. The most severe consequences of toxicoinfections are carried by children under 5 years old, the elderly and people with chronic gastrointestinal diseases.
- The natural market does not guarantee the quality of goods. To preserve the health of yourself and loved ones, purchase products only in official retail facilities and equipped markets, where strict sanitary and veterinary control is carried out, the expert recommended.
