Approximately one in seven people in the world live with a mental disorder - the most common anxiety and depressive conditions. Such data was voiced by the coordinator of the WHO public health programs Valentin Rusovich at a press conference for Mental Health Day, writes sb.by.

He noted that Belarus has made serious efforts to integrate psychiatric care into primary health care:
- A very important provision in the Psychiatric Care Act is that general practitioners or primary care physicians can now participate in the diagnosis and treatment of mild forms of mental disorders. To help them, with the participation of the Ministry of Health, the WHO Country Office and the RSPC of Medical Technologies, the Electronic Patient Atlas was created – an interactive information resource that contains short videos, visual illustrations and text instructions on frequent health problems. It also has four questionnaires for primary diagnosis of depression, alcohol use disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and mental status assessments for dementia.
The specialist noted that with anxiety and depressive disorders in a mild form will help to cope with the basic rules:
- This is compliance with the regime of the day, increasing physical activity and time to communicate with loved ones, staying in the fresh air for at least 40 minutes a day, proper sleep and nutrition, giving up alcohol and nicotine or at least reducing their use. In mild cases of disorders, all this helps to cope with them, and in more complex cases, it is a useful addition to drug therapy.
