Belgospishcheprom increased the output of import-substituting products to 687 million dollars

Belgospishcheprom continues to increase the production of import-substituting products. The enterprises of the concern rely on functional nutrition, mini-formats and unusual tastes, Maria Gorbatova, deputy head of the department - head of the department for coordinating the supply of goods to the domestic market of the department for coordinating the supply of goods to the domestic market and foreign trade activities of the Belgospishcheprom concern, told reporters on October 13, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

Import substitution remains one of the priority areas for the enterprises of the concern. According to M. Gorbatova, the indicators of recent years significantly exceed the set target values.

- By the end of 2025, the total output of the import-substituting assortment amounted to almost $687 million, which is 30% higher than the annual target. In the first half of 2026, we reached the figure of $ 386 million, or 65% of the annual plan, the speaker said.

To support the production of such products, the enterprises of the concern are actively modernizing production and launching new investment projects.

- To increase efficiency, we are introducing new capacities. For example, the confectionery factory “Slodych” in 2023 purchased and installed equipment for the production of waffle tubes with filling, and in 2024 – for the production of soft caramel, said M. Gorbatova.

Another large-scale project confectionery factory "Kommunarka" implements in the Lioznensky district. There the construction of a line for the production of candy based on powdered milk is being completed. The project is included in the state program of innovative development of the country for 2026-2030.

Among the novelties are cookies with vitamins and calcium for children, chewing marshmallows, candies and chocolate with protein, as well as various confectionery products without sugar. Not without gastronomic experiments: on the shelves appeared sugar with the addition of ground black pepper, a dry mixture for dranics, soups that do not require cooking, and seasonings without salt and sodium glutamate. Also, the range of Belarusian shops includes ketchup for schoolchildren and preschoolers, pectin-containing juices and nectars, rapeseed oil with the aroma of Provencal herbs and for baby food.

M. Gorbatova stressed that the range of enterprises of the concern is changing in response to consumer requests. People began to read labels more carefully and look for products that save time.

- In recent years, certain trends have clearly been observed in the food industry. This is the release of healthy lifestyle products and functional products: without sugar, with vitamins, trace elements and enriched with protein. Mini-formats for snacking on the go, ready-to-eat dishes that do not require prolonged heat treatment, and products with complex, unusual tastes are also in demand, the representative of Belgospishcheprom explained.
