In winter, the desire to eat often occurs soon after a meal, especially if the diet consists mainly of sweets and pastries. Doctors of the Chelyabinsk City Clinical Hospital No. 2 told what products are better to include in the menu to keep satiety longer.
Tea with cookies or a bun seems like an easy way to warm up and get energy quickly. But, as doctors warn, such a snack saturates for a short time. After a while, the hunger returns.
Instead of fast carbohydrates, experts advise choosing complex carbohydrates and fiber products more often.
Suit buckwheat, barley, brown rice and long-cooked oatmeal. They are digested more slowly and help to maintain a feeling of satiety for longer.
Do not forget about the usual seasonal vegetables. Cabbage, beets, carrots, pumpkin and turnips contain fiber necessary for normal bowel function.
Avoiding fat in the winter, doctors also do not recommend. The diet can include vegetable oils, nuts, seeds and sea fish. Herring, mackerel and pink salmon are sources of omega-3 fatty acids.
Another tip concerns the drinking regime. In the cold season, people often drink less water because they are not as thirsty as in the summer. Meanwhile, in heated rooms, the body continues to lose moisture.
Therefore, if you suddenly want to have a snack, doctors suggest drinking a glass of water first. For those who do not like cold drinks in winter, warm water with lemon or ginger is suitable.
There are also recommendations on portion size. Garnish can be measured tentatively with a fist, protein food - with the palm of your hand, vegetables - with two palms. Preference experts advise to give warm dishes.
Special attention of doctors GKB No. 2 is recommended to pay to vitamin D. Due to the lack of sunlight in the winter in the Urals, it is worth discussing with a doctor the need for its preventive reception.
