Electric transport on new energy sources: a course on technological sovereignty

The session “Charged for Russia: Transport on New Energy Sources”, organized by the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the capital, became a platform for a direct dialogue between industry, science and development institutions.

According to Polina Pavlova, Advisor to the Minister of the Government of Moscow, the Russian electric vehicle industry is reaching a new level: for nine months of the year, sales of electric vehicles and hybrids have almost doubled. At the same time, the further development of the industry is possible primarily due to cooperation between the factories that produce components and the consumers who use these cars.

The session also announced the launch of the first Russian marketplace of automotive components TechnoMarket. According to Tatiana Redko, Chairman of the Commission for the Development of Transport Infrastructure of the Public Council under the Ministry of Transport of Russia and head of the Electromobility and Technologies for Transport Systems cluster of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, customers will be able to place their needs in automotive components, goods and services on the platform, and companies from the regions will be able to offer solutions.

At the same time, state support should be not only accessible, but focused on specific tasks. Alexander Zazhalkin, Advisor for Scientific and Technical Policy at Innopractica, stressed: “State support is an auxiliary tool.” Success is possible only if the company is based on the project and not on available support measures.”.

For component manufacturers, not only support measures but also demand guarantees are critical. Anatoly Ganin, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Udmurt Republic, noted that factories need specifics – volumes of lots, technical requirements, documentation, financing.

Battery production is another area where cooperation and guaranteed order become the basis for investment. Anastasia Mikhailova, CEO of RENERA LLC, spoke about the construction of a gigafactory as part of the Moscow Electric Battery Cluster and the creation of an experimental industrial R&D center that allows you to work out the ideas of the Russian technological package and implement them on the basis of production. According to her, high-tech industries always need to be an understandable customer.

Electricity goes far beyond cars. Grigory Bolotin, Chairman of the Board of the Association “Mechanical Cluster of Chuvashia”, spoke about the development of a line of special equipment on electric drive: forklifts, reach trucks, electric trucks and electric utility tractor.

The company developing the first Russian serial electric car-gadget Atom, relies on a software and digital platform, all intellectual property of which is located in Russia. According to Anatoly Kiyashko, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Partners of the company, the key advantage of the platform is the possibility of its integration into urban transport and SMEs: the car can accurately determine the location, build routes and interact with the regions, contributing to the development of their economy.

The Moscow Investment and Industrial Forum is a platform for dialogue between government representatives, investors and industrialists. It is held in Moscow for the second time: the first forum was held in 2025. IIPF brings together discussions on investment policy, enterprise support measures, technological development and training. The organizers are the Government of Moscow and the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow.
