Bruises without a reason: Belgorod residents told why they appear

Belgorod residents were told whether bruises can appear for nothing. This topic was revealed by the head of the center of sports medicine of the regional center of public health and medical prevention Yevgeny Tiunov.

Damaged capillary

A bruise, or hematoma, is blood that has emerged from damaged small vessels under the skin and has accumulated in soft tissues. Any bruise has a cause, and in most cases, the person simply does not remember why it formed.

Most often, bruises appear in women, people with fair skin and those who stand or sit a lot. This is due to damage to the capillaries. For this reason, footprints often form on the thighs and shins.

It's all about age

With age, the tendency to form bruises becomes greater. The skin gradually becomes thinner, the subcutaneous fat layer that performs a cushioning function decreases, the walls of the vessels are less elastic and more fragile due to a decrease in collagen.

Most often, bruises can be seen on the back of the hands, forearms and shins. They do not go away for a long time and leave behind a slight pigmentation. It's not dangerous.

What's missing from the body?

One of the frequent causes of increased vascular fragility is a lack of vitamins. For example, C, K, P (rutin), B 12 and folic acid.

The state of the vessels is also affected by chronic increase in blood pressure, smoking, excess weight and inactivity. These factors reduce the elasticity of the vascular wall and increase the risk of microbleeds.

Preventive action

To prevent the appearance of bruises, a balanced diet, physical activity, control of chronic diseases and careful handling of traumatic surfaces are necessary. It is also important to talk to a therapist about medications and supplements.

If bruises occur frequently, especially in combination with other symptoms, you should consult a doctor. It is recommended to take a general blood test and coagulogram. More details - in the material "BelPress".

Earlier, Belgorod explained why there is no safe dose of alcohol.
