The Ministry of Labor told how to properly plan work leave and in which cases it can be extended
Consultant of the Main Legal Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Tatiana Rahubo told on the air of the program “Actual Interview”.

Consultant of the main legal department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Tatiana Rahubo told on the air of the program “Actual Interview” on the TV channel “First Information”, how to properly plan a work holiday to rest more days and get profitable vacations, reports sb.by.

To extend the rest period, Tatiana Rahubo advised to plan a work holiday for days that coincide with official holidays.
For example, in January we have three non-working days – January 1, 2 and 7. If the employee plans for this period of work leave or part of it, these days will not be included in the number of days of work leave. And, accordingly, the employee will take fewer days, but in fact will rest for three more days. In May, we also have two holidays, May 1 and 9. If the holiday falls on these holidays, the employee will rest on vacation more, while taking fewer days, she said.
As for the monetary side of the issue, the representative of the Ministry of Labor stressed that the average earnings for calculating vacations are determined for the 12 months preceding the month of the start of vacation.
I think it will be quite difficult for an ordinary worker to calculate and choose the option when this average salary will be higher, because you need to own the numbers. But there are periods when payments are made, for example, according to the results of work for the year or quarterly bonuses. The employee should understand that this will increase the calculation of his average earnings. Therefore, if such payments are included in these 12 months, the average earnings of the employee will be higher, said Tatiana Rahubo.
