Volgograd residents were told how to slow down the aging of the brain
Svetlana Burnatskaya, a therapist and occupational therapist at the Academician Roitberg Clinic, explained that the aging process of the brain is not sudden and is not tied to a specific age mark, but is largely determined by our lifestyle.

In an interview with Lenta.ru, the specialist shared, in her opinion, an unobvious method of slowing down this process, which many underestimate. We are talking about regular and full sleep. Svetlana Burnatskaya stressed that during sleep, the brain does not just recover from daily exertion. During this period, important processes necessary to maintain the health of the nervous system and eliminate metabolic waste are activated.
The studies referred to by the expert point to the connection of chronic sleep deprivation with memory impairment and an increase in the likelihood of developing cognitive impairment in the future. Therefore, sleep should not be regarded as an excess to be neglected for work or entertainment.
A key aspect of quality sleep is its regularity. An ineffective strategy is to constantly change the time of going to bed, a short nap on weekdays and then try to make up for it on the weekend. The brain is much more useful to adhere to a stable sleep regimen.
In addition, in addition to adequate sleep, scientifically based methods of slowing brain aging are physical activity, maintaining normal blood pressure and controlling other vascular factors, a balanced diet, social interaction and constant mental activity. The expert also added that you should not look for some universal product or exercise to rejuvenate the brain. Much more important is an integrated approach and daily care for your health.
