They will deliver two power generation modules (2-PGM-002 and 2-PGM-004) to the second production line of the plant. The portal clarifies that both ships are under US sanctions.
Novatek’s Arctic LNG 2 project provides for three production lines with a capacity of 6.6 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year each. The total output is planned in the amount of 19.8 million tons per year. The total volume of LNG production in Russia in 2025 amounted to 32 million tons. In addition, it is planned to produce up to 1.6 million tons of stable gas condensate (SGC) per year. The products go to the Chinese market.
The first line was introduced in 2023. Additional generation was required to reach full capacity of the second line. Initially, the project was designed for gas turbines Baker Hughes (USA), but the Americans left the project with the beginning of the SVO in Ukraine.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Anton Alikhanov said on September 3 at the WEF-2026 that the Arctic LNG 2 project managed to replace Japanese submersible sealed pumps with Russian analogues. The production of gas turbines is also mastered.
