Vietnam’s coffee exports hit a record $8.5 billion due to a sharp rise in global supplies. This information was announced by the representative of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA) Do Xuan Hien, writes sb.by.

According to TASS, at a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City dedicated to summing up the harvest of 2025-2026 and determining the priorities of the industry association for the next season, he indicated that coffee production in the country over the past period is estimated at 31.7 million bags, which is equivalent to almost 1.9 million tons. It turns out that the increase in production was about 10% compared to 2025. Robusta grains accounted for more than 90% of coffee production, enabling Vietnam to maintain its position as one of the world’s leading producers and exporters.
Vietnam exported approximately 1.8 million tons of coffee from 2025-2026, generating $8.5 billion. This was the highest export income in the history of the sector, compared to the previous year, the volume of exports increased by about 21%. Green coffee beans remained the main export product, the volume of deliveries of which to foreign markets amounted to about 1.65 million tons, giving export revenues of almost $ 7 billion, VICOFA noted.
According to VICOFA Deputy Chairman Do Ha Nam, the roasting and deep processing of Vietnamese coffee beans was previously largely dominated by foreign companies, and now local coffee exporters are stepping up investments in processing to gradually reduce dependence on green beans exports.
Vietnam needs a coordinated national campaign to promote its coffee, with the support of ministries, agencies and industry associations. Such an approach would allow the country to improve its processing capacity, strengthen the international standing of Vietnamese coffee, increase its competitiveness, and benefit more from exports.
