According to the doctor, the syndrome of "dead buttocks" (calc from the English term) in clinical practice means weakness of the gluteal muscles. The essence of the problem lies in the violation of neuromuscular communication and compression of tissues in the area of attachment of muscles to the femur. Over time, the gluteal muscles literally “turn off” – the brain ceases to fully involve them in movement.
- A person begins to hurt the knees, lower back with any physical exertion, because these muscles, joints take on much more load. At the moment when the included gluteal muscle could take on this load, it cannot, so it manifests itself in pain. More susceptible to this are those who sit for a very long time or begin after a sitting position to actively engage in sports. Also at risk are people with a habit of sitting on their feet or standing with an emphasis on only one leg, said Anastasia Fomina.
The expert also warned against trying to get rid of the problem with the help of random exercises from the Internet: if you load spasm areas, you can aggravate the injury. The training plan for the activation of the buttocks should be selected exclusively by an exercise therapy doctor or orthopedic traumatologist.
The doctor called the causes of high cholesterol and explained why it should not be ignored
