October 20 – Cook’s Day: beautiful pictures and greeting cards
October 20 is International Cook's Day. The holiday is young, but the reason is great: today you can legally go to the gastronomic breakaway.

While professionals compete in restaurants, there are elite closed clubs like the G9, which includes only nine of the best cooks on the planet. But we are more interested in folk traditions and myths.
Crazy facts about food:
• France. The hat of the chef has exactly 100 folds - according to the number of ways of cooking eggs.
• Russia. The first collection of recipes was written in 1779. Fairy tale writer! The book only took 44 pages.
• Japan. Here they eat not only sushi, but also “samurai pizza”, as well as maple leaves in deep frying. The leaves are marinated in salt for a year, and then fried in a sweet dough.
• Germany. At Oktoberfest, 84 bulls and half a million chickens are eaten, drinking 6 million liters of beer.
Why are top chefs always men?
It's a stereotype. In France, the word "chef" exists only in masculine form. In Japan, people still believe in the myth that women have higher body temperature and overheat rice for perfect sushi. And the legend of French cuisine Paul Bocuse said that taking a woman to a professional kitchen is stupid. But all this does not prevent women from loving and being able to cook delicious and very beautiful food.
