Almost half of the working Chelyabinsk residents preferred a salary increase
A promotion doesn’t please everyone as much as an increase in income

A promotion does not please everyone as much as an increase in income. For 49% of working residents of Chelyabinsk, salary is more important than the new status. This is stated in the study “Avito Work”.
Another 32% of respondents consider money and career growth equally important. Only 6% put their job above their salary. At 9%, priorities depend on the stage of the career, and 3% do not chase for promotion or increase.
Most people have a rather calm attitude towards work. 66% of Chelyabinsk residents estimate their career ambitions as average or below average. For them, work is primarily a source of income, and personal life is more important than constant movement through the career ladder. At the same time, 32% consider their ambitions above average and are ready to take on more difficult tasks for the sake of development.
Conditions matter, too. Nearly a third of the city’s working population (31 percent) develops better when they are fully responsible for their performance. Another 28% prefer a calm, supportive environment, 25% prefer teamwork. The competitive atmosphere was chosen by 9%.
According to the nationwide sample, there is a noticeable difference between generations. Young employees aged 18-24 were more likely than others to declare above-average ambition - 50%. Among people aged 25-34, this is 40%. And to keep staff in one place, according to the study, competitive wages remain in the foreground: 50% of respondents in the survey in Russia named it. Then there is a convenient format of work, team and benefits.
