Ekaterina Paukova, a cardiologist at the SberZdorovye medical company, called an important component of longevity, the importance of which, according to her, is often underestimated - compliance with sleep patterns.

“One of the most important rules of longevity is to sleep. The average adult needs seven to eight hours of night rest. Full sleep allows the body to recover from daytime activity and maintain the normal functioning of the hormonal system. In addition, sufficient night rest helps to maintain concentration and memory, explained the doctor.

Ekaterina Paukova also noted: if snoring appears during sleep, you should contact a somnologist for diagnosis. Snoring can be a manifestation of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome - a condition in which breathing periodically stops, writes Lenta.ru. This pathology leads to a decrease in blood oxygen levels, increased heart rate and increased blood pressure, which can further increase the risk of hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases, the specialist warned.
