In the Yaroslavl region held a single open day of the project “Professionality”

In the Yaroslavl region, a Single Open Day was celebrated on a large scale within the framework of the federal project “Professionality” (it is part of the national project “Youth and Children”). The main task of these events is to help children navigate the world of professions and choose a path that will be to their liking and strength. For schoolchildren and their parents, a whole career-oriented platform was deployed: you could not just listen to specialties, but literally “try on” them for yourself.

The guests got acquainted with six industry clusters: Biopharmaceutical Production, Railway Transport, Mechanical Engineering, Pedagogy, Agriculture and Information Technologies. The practical part turned out to be rich: more than 370 professional tests were conducted in 13 colleges, and more than 80 excursions were organized at 67 sites of employers - so the guys saw how the real production is arranged.

“In the Yaroslavl region, the Single Open Day of the federal project “Professionality” was held for the ninth time, and interest in its events is steadily growing,” stressed the Minister of Education of the Yaroslavl region Irina Loboda. This time, more than 5,760 schoolchildren and their parents attended professional tests, more than 2,430 visited partner enterprises. Almost 10.5 thousand people participated in the class hours “Professionality: you are in good company!”, more than 41 thousand people – parent meetings, in person and online.

In the cluster “Agriculture”, schoolchildren worked in new laboratories with modern equipment. The children immersed themselves in digital agriculture, mastered the basics of agronomy and biotechnology, tried their hand at landscape design. Excursions to the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex allowed to see the real work of specialists, to assess the equipment and equipment that are used every day.

Cluster "Mechanical Engineering" opened the doors to the world of high technology. The students studied the capabilities of the latest equipment and laboratories, participated in master classes and professional tests. So they got acquainted with such areas as mechatronics (including work with pneumatic systems), programming, logistics, car maintenance, electrical installation, technical measurements and engineering graphics. Visiting production sites helped to understand what skills and qualities are especially valued in this industry.

In “Biopharmaceutical production” students had a rare opportunity to feel like real specialists. They tried to work as operators, used a manual encapsulator to create placebo capsules, observed a closed cycle of work with solutions, made tablets on a tablet. In addition, the guys conducted chemical analysis of water and in virtual reality participated in the defrosting of the cell bank – this format allowed to safely and clearly show the intricacies of the profession.

For fans of digital technologies, the Information Technologies cluster worked. High school students tried their hand in web development, 3D modeling, network and system administration, information protection. Excursions to leading IT companies in the region helped to see jobs, observe the labor process and communicate with practitioners – this often helps to better understand whether such an area is suitable for a person.

The Pedagogy cluster showed that the profession of a teacher is not only lessons, but also many creative and technical directions. The guests saw a fragment of a robotics class, visited a master class in theatrical art and a professional test “PRO-football”. Also, the children got acquainted with art therapy in correctional and developmental work, studied interactive equipment, participated in game methods and worked out dance techniques - all this helps to understand how multifaceted pedagogical activity is.

Of particular interest was the railway transport cluster. Here the classrooms were updated and equipped with new equipment so that the training was as close as possible to real work. The central event was the interactive intensive “Master Class 360°: One Day in the Driver’s Cabin”. This is a compact, but very rich format: ninth graders were able to deeply immerse themselves in the specifics of railway professions. The students “tried” on different roles – driver’s assistant, track mounter, conductor, electrician, station officer – and felt what it means to manage the train, monitor the safety of the tracks and take care of the comfort of passengers.

The project ambassadors played an important role in career guidance: they held all-Russian class hours in schools “Professionality: you are in good company!”. Students shared personal experiences, talked about their colleges, targeted learning opportunities, and career prospects—live stories often inspire more than any brochure.

On October 17, a regional parent meeting was held in an online format: mass points of connection to the broadcast were organized in schools and colleges. Parents were told in detail about the goals of the project, the structure of the secondary vocational education system in the region, the peculiarities of training and career opportunities. In addition, at the sites of basic and network colleges, in-person parental meetings were held with the participation of representatives of large employers and opinion leaders - so adults could ask questions directly to those who form the labor market.

Even before the Single Open Day, the possibilities of clusters were shown at the Industry Week of the Yaroslavl Region - more than 35 thousand people visited it. This made it possible to acquaint residents of the region with the prospects of vocational training and demanded specialties in advance.
