Varicose veins are one of the frequent problems of modern man, and in many ways it is associated with a sedentary lifestyle. When we sit or stand for a long time, blood stagnation occurs in the veins of the legs - and this is a direct path to vascular expansion, inflammation, thrombosis and even trophic ulcers. Russian phlebologist Maxim Abasov told about simple exercises to prevent varicose veins, writes sb.by.

Rise on socks and heels (at the wall)
Stand facing the wall, lean on it with your hands at shoulder level, keep your back straight. Perform movements on the account:
1 - lift your socks up;
2 - return to the starting position;
3 – rise on the heels, raising your toes;
4 - stand straight again.
According to Maxim Abasov, this exercise makes calf muscles work – they act as a “second heart” for venous blood flow. Do 20 repetitions.
Lifting your legs while sitting (on a chair)
Sit on the chair so that the back fits tightly to the back. Keep your legs bent at your knees. Alternately raise your legs so that your feet are at seat level. Repeat for each leg 15 times.
- So you use the muscles of the thighs, which also help to move venous blood up, the phlebologist said.
"Bike riding" lying down
Lie on your back, press the lower back to the floor, put your hands down. Lift your legs and simulate pedal torsion: 30 seconds one way, 30 seconds the other. After that, take a minute break and repeat the cycle two more times (total 3 sets).
As Maxim Abasov explained, due to the fact that the legs are above the body, venous outflow improves, and the work of the muscles of the lower leg and thigh additionally stimulates blood circulation.
